This Pear Cranberry Pie features a beautifully browned, flaky, all-butter crust that encases tender, sweet pears, tart, crisp cranberries, and it’s brightened up with a hint of fresh ginger. This Pear Cranberry Pie would be a great finish to your Thanksgiving meal!
If you hang around The Crafting Foodie, you know that I’ve been on a huge fall baking spree. I love traditional fall flavors, and this year I decided to take familiar fall favorites, and reinvent them into something just as delicious, but with a little more creativity. There are the cakes – Brown Butter Pumpkin Cake with Caramel, Chocolate Pecan Pie Cake, and Apple Fritter Cake. Plus, I even made some Apple Cinnamon Rolls. Now, I’m turning my attention to pie.
Pie and Thanksgiving are synonymous to me. I’ve never, ever had a Thanksgiving without pie. And boy am I lucky because I LOVE pie. I’m an all-butter crust kinda gal, so my homemade crust recipe turns out flaky, tender, and flavorful every time.
This year while there will still be pie at our Thanksgiving meal, I decided to feature pears. I feel like pears often get overlooked in autumn desserts. So this year, I’m making this gorgeous Pear Cranberry Pie.
The fresh ginger is a little of a surprising ingredient, but I promise it’s delicious. Most fruit pies have an element of acid to brighten them up, and most often is lemon juice. But for this pie it’s freshly grated ginger. The flavor is barely detectable, but the it brings a brightness and freshness to the pie that is unmistakable!

Thanks so much Kim! I know – pears are always left behind when it comes to pie filing 🙁 I hope you give it a try!
