These Simple Evergreen Sugar Cookies are some of my all-time favorite cookies. That’s saying a lot for someone like me, who LOVES making all sorts of cookies. They are so easy to whip up, and they’re so festive. Who wouldn’t get into the holiday spirit with one of these cookies?
One of the best parts of this cookie (aside from how delicious it is and how simple it is to put together) is that you can make the dough well ahead of time. Then pull them out of the freezer. Allow the dough to warm up a bit, slice, and bake the cookies. These cookies are quickly becoming a favorite!
The red, white, and green nonpareil boarder on these cookies are so simple to add to the cookies, and they give the cookies a great crunch.
These cookies are vanilla, but you could make the green evergreen portion of the cookie a different flavor. I was thinking of adding peppermint extract to the green portion of the dough, but my two-year old insisted on keeping the entire cookie vanilla. I think it was a great choice, but I’m sure other flavors would be just as delicious. I have tons of ideas using this simple method, and I will be sharing those creations with you at The Crafting Foodie!
